Mexico's most glamorous city is undoubtedly Acapulco. Known for its hot beaches and hotter night life,
Acapulco has been at the forefront of the luxury vacation for years. This celebrity resort name is
Nahuatl, meaning "plain of dense reeds", and is the most visited holiday spot in
Mexico. It is famous world-wide, and although the jet-set of the 1970's and 80's have moved further
down the coast to the new Diamante area of town, Acapulco still retains its original character, charm
and atmosphere that has made it a world-famous resort for decades.
Among the port city's many enticing qualities are: its beautiful bay, one of the best in the world;
the calm waters of its beaches; the amenities offered by its well established hotel industry, which
in recent years has undergone a major revamping, especially in the Punta Diamante neighborhood; and
finally, the city's unbeatable nightlife, which offers one of the hottest playgrounds among Mexican
vacation destinations.
The view of Acapulco Bay, framed by mountains and beaches, is breathtaking day or night. In the evening,
the sunsets from Pie de la Cuesta is one of the best you'll see on Mexico's Pacific coast. At night,
when the lights come on, Acapulco becomes a party-goer's paradise.

Acapulco: Everything in one place
Acapulco is a resort full of energy, vibrancy and color that never stops, day or night.
During the day most of the focus in Acapulco is on the beach and Acapulco's warm water bay and
pristine beaches have been favourites of national and international tourists for many years.
However it is not false to say that Acapulco really comes to life when sun goes down. There is no
place in the world that can compete with Acapulco's sophisticated dazzling night clubs and the
choice of entertainment and restaurants. Here you will find massive nightclubs that are
state-of-the-art temples of sensuality packed with beautiful people partying until sunrise.
If you're looking for a wild week or weekend or if you are just looking for a nice quiet place to relax
on the beach, Acapulco is the right choice. Whatever your fancy, you can be sure you will

Acapulco activities and sidetrips:
Acapulco begins with its outdoor fun filled activities such as; parasailing, jet skiing, water
skiing, boat tours, and soaking up the warm rays while relaxing on one of the many beaches.
Acapulco has nearly 20 miles of beaches, and each beach is unique in some respects. There are
beaches with tranquil, calm waters, good for swimming, and beaches with stronger waves, ideal
for surfers.
Among the major attractions in Acapulco are the famous cliff divers at Le Quebrada, who risk their
lives with 130 foot dives into the sea from atop steep cliffs several times daily. The dives
include some evening shows, during which the divers illuminate the night sky with flaming torches.
To get a taste of the local flare visit Old Acapulco and mingle away while shopping for a bargin
from Talavera pottery to silver jewellery or enjoy some yummy authentic Mexican cooking.
Acapulco is famous for its delicious fresh seafood, including such classic dishes as Cerviche and
Pescado a la Talla, but there are many restaurants which offer a large variety of international
cuisines, as well as traditional Mexican dishes. Don't miss fish tacos, and for a cool refreshment
try the orchada water or the traditional Margarita. In general, prices for meals are quite reasonable.
The fishing in Acapulco, particulary sailfish, is legendary, in fact, it's news when someone
doesn't catch a fish. The snorkeling and SCUBA diving here is first rate and there are few things
as exciting as simply jumping on a jet-ski and riding at full throttle across Acapulco Bay!
