Huatulco is a coastal paradise that lies at the southern tip of the Southern Sierra Madre Mountain range, on the Pacific Coast. This city is located in the state of Oaxaca approximately 500 km (311 mi) south of Acapulco, Guerrero.

The climate in Huatulco is hot and semi-humid with the average temperature of 28ºC (83ºF). Sunshine can be expected throughout most of the year but the rainy season is from June to November. The amount of precipitation has a definite effect on the local vegetation, being very green in the rainy season.

Huatulco: A Resort Destination within a Natural Ambiance

Huatulco is divided into four districts: Tangolunda is one of Huatulco’s districts, where upscale resorts stand on the bay’s shore. Finally La Crucecita (little cross), another small town, is located just inland from the beach. This town was created to provide services to the development of the resort area. Here you can find many restaurants and shops built around a typical Mexican zocalo – a park in the center of the town.
